Safety

A free app to keep you and your kin safe

Join the Kyntab Network and implement techniques that war journalists use to stay alive.
This app is designed to help keep you safe at night, when traveling for work or pleasure, on public transport, if your vehicle is stopped, or you're detained or kidnapped.

3 simple steps to activate your personal SOS:

  • Add the contacts of your trusted people

  • Enable a voice command code word

  • When you feel unsafe, trigger your SOS using one touch or voice

You can pay to upgrade features on the app, which will help cover our costs to keep vulnerable people around the world safe. The paid app offers a free month to try it out. There is no obligation to upgrade, and the free version of the app is intended to help you and your loved ones stay safe.

The SOS sends your location to your trusted contacts.
Your privacy is absolute. We don't store or sell your data. We don't track your movements.

Awards

Kyntab Safety won a hackathon organized by The Human Rights Foundation in January 2026, and has since been validated as useful by security officials at a variety of organizations, including The New York Times, CISCO, PEN International, and others.

That said, we are constantly seeking to improve, and our app allows you to submit feedback.
